STEP 1
Introductory phone call
Interested in starting your own children’s tutoring franchise? Contact our team and discover if owning a Gideon Math & Reading Center is the right fit for you. First, we schedule an hour-long phone call to get to know you and your goals. We want to explore your timeline and decision criteria while discussing any questions or concerns you may have as well.
STEP 2
Full review of Gideon
Next is an in-depth presentation of the Gideon philosophy, our tutoring franchise start-up process, and the unique value to the community that our Franchisees offer to parents and students. We will give you a transparent view of running a center and the characteristics of a successful Franchisee.

Complete questionnaire
During this step in the process, the team at Gideon can get to know you and ability to own a Gideon center better. We do not ask for any sensitive details like a driver’s license or social security number. This step helps frame the next few steps of analyzing your preferred territories and accessing funding for your center.
STEP 4
Funding and territory analysis
Should you need funding, Gideon can put you in touch with small-business lenders who can explain the current funding environment and different options available. Additionally, we will discuss the center site options available in your potential territory, their demographics, and other factors to consider.

Franchise disclosure document review
This is a comprehensive, legal document which covers our company background, a detailed breakdown of the total initial investment along with on-going costs, average center sales, a full list of current Franchisees, our current franchise agreement, and more. It is important you fully understand every aspect of the business and our mutual obligations by thoroughly reviewing this document.
STEP 6
Attend Discovery Day
Get a real peek behind the curtains by seeing a Gideon center in action during a class session at a local center and give you time to talk privately with that franchisee. Later you will visit our corporate center, have lunch with the Gideon team, and ask any questions you have. We will discuss in-depth our onboarding, training, support and more. No obligations are required during discovery day.

STEP 6

Executed award letter
After Discovery Day, the Gideon team will determine whether to send an award letter. You will be asked to pass a proficiency test in math and reading with the award letter. This will also be when you finalize funding for Gideon center.
STEP 8
Sign franchise agreement!
Congratulations! Upon receipt of the signed Franchise Agreement and initial fees, you are now a part of the Gideon Math & Reading team! We will schedule an onboarding call during which we will set you up on Teams and the training site. We will hit the ground running with site selection as well!
Completing the steps can take usually takes 2 – 3 months.
